The gruelling annual Ashridge Boundary Trail run took part with nine Shires members participating this year.
This race ran in a clockwise direction around the 17.5 miles boundary trail route and follows well marked paths around the beautiful Ashridge estate. The terrain was varied trail and off road and was made tougher this year as there was a new starting point from Aldbury. This meant that the first climb was up Ivinghoe Beacon with the dreaded steps coming in at the 5 mile mark.
All our members had a tough but satisfying run that tested both mental and physical boundaries - we're all so proud of them! One member in particular, had a wonderful proud dad moment when his son came in first with an incredible time of 1:56:30 so beating over 500 fellow runners.
As always it was a tough race but one that Shires members love to participate in.
