Event Overview

Distance: 10.25k with a mix of swimming and runningFormat: 15 legs through trails, woods, paths, and tall cane grass fields, interspersed with swims in the reservoir.

Pre-Race Thoughts:

I made a last-minute entry into the AKAM Grafham Water Swimrun and was relieved to find calm waters in the reservoir this year—much better than the waves I faced last year!

Race Atmosphere:

There was a great buzz at the event, with friendly vibes all around. Swimrun events truly foster a sense of community.

Course Experience:

The course featured a mix of terrain, including beautiful trails and scenic views.- I only took one wrong turn, which I corrected quickly—thankfully not like last year when I ended up with a "bonus" 2km run!

Results:

I’m thrilled to share that I bagged a podium spot, finishing as the 3rd lady and 5th overall out of 41 participants. I also completed the course about 20 minutes faster than last year!

Conclusion:

Overall, it was a fantastic day, and I’m feeling grateful for the experience and the improvements. Looking forward to the next challenge!
