Despite being a bit late to share, I couldn’t resist recounting my experience at the Sunshine Coast Half Marathon while visiting my parents! With over 12,000 participants racing across five distances, the atmosphere was electric.

The day started early at 6 AM, with the darkness giving way to dawn as we lined up. The course was fantastic, featuring some stunning views that made the early wake-up call worth it. It was especially uplifting to have my parents cheering me on around the 10k mark, and my brother with his family was there to support me on the final stretch.

I felt strong for the first 15k, but from there, it turned into a bit of a slog. However, I pushed through and crossed the finish line with a time of 2:02:54. I placed 888th out of 2280 for gender and 73rd out of 204 in my age group.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m grateful for the support along the way!
