A 3.5k of swimming through the crystal clear waters of Llyn Padarn in the shadow of Mount Snowdon and a 12.5k of hilly and demanding running was what awaited five Shires as they took on Love SwimRun Llanberis.  As well as some kinder flat sections, the course took in a big climb up in the historic Dinorwig slate quarries.

“I was simply pleased to finish!"

Shires did themselves proud, Joe achieved fifth place and in her first swim-run event, Nicola placed fourth female, a fantastic achievement. Simon L was thrilled to smash his personal best on the course while Simon B said, “I was simply pleased to finish!  It was such an amazingly scenic course which, though tough, made the race easier.  The atmosphere was so supportive, such a well-organised event.”  Mandy, who was suffering from injury made the sensible, but tough decision to not finish the event.
