Great lodgings with Steve in Bagneres de Bigorre
1st day 1st Col… Col d’Aspin (1498m)
Col d’Aspin (1498m)
Rob goes souvenir hunting on Haut de La Cote
We rode up Pla d’Adet (1680m) so we could go down again, nice
Riding up the Beacon was great training for the 1st ten minutes of the day
Musty at one with nature who provided a handy icepack
Rob cools his tyres ahead of another descent
No natural icepack for Rob so Thomas the Tank Engine had to do
Col du Tourmalet (2115m) goes on and on and…
On and on and on and…..
But it’s worth it for the view
The signs said shut, the old man said open so we set off down the other side
And then, we ran out of road
Rob put plan B into operation
About a mile of the descent looked like this (there’s a road under there somewhere)
Rob puts plan C into operation
When in France…..
Rob fuels for Hautacam (1520m)
Man beats mountain, just
Hautacam (1520m) above the clouds, what a view!
Musty and Rob share a special moment in the hot tub
